Step into the Glasshouse: An immersive experience in a living landscape

  • The Pod & The Glasshouse The Green Barn Yarmouth, England, PO41 0XN United Kingdom (map)

What happens when we pause long enough to really experience the place we are in?

Moodling - a practice of paying attention with curiosity and care.

Step into the Glasshouse is an immersive listening and moodling experience in a living landscape set within the rural setting of The Green Barn lead by Debs Stott. Rooted in moodling - a practice of paying attention with curiosity and care - this experience brings participants into direct contact with their surroundings through observation, movement and reflection.

Moving between The Pod, surrounding accessible outdoor spaces and the light-filled greenhouse, participants spend time noticing where their attention naturally settles in the environment. The Glasshouse becomes a central point within the session, where the experience of being inside while seeing the outside world clearly begins to shape how people relate to the space around them.

As participants stay with what they notice, details begin to stand out, and they start to recognise how their attention shapes what they experience.

Throughout the workshop, participants work with a simple personal mapping surface. This provides a place to capture moments of attention as they arise creating a record of their experience without interrupting it.

By the end of the session, participants leave with a tangible artefact of their experience and a clearer sense of how their inner responses and the landscape around them interact.

This workshop offers a structured yet open experience that supports connection to place, self and environment, aligning closely with the aims of the Biosphere Festival and the Island as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
