Introduction to Wild Fermentation at Wight Knuckle Brewery

  • Wight Knuckle Brewery West Lane Brading, England, PO36 0JG United Kingdom (map)

Join us for a fun and hands-on 3 hour workshop where you'll dive into the fascinating history of alcohol fermentation and beermaking.

Joseph of Fieldstudy will take you on a foraging walk around the Nunwell Estate and introduce you to the wild plants that have been used to flavour beer over the centuries, and then its back to the brewery where you'll learn how to capture and harness your own wild yeast to create tasty drinks at home.

This is a 3 hour immersive workshop in collaboration with the Isle of Wight Biosphere Festival and Wight Knuckle Brewery, a chance to chat to a professional forager and one of the team behind '33 Parishes': the hyperlocal beer that directly funds projects in the IOW UNESCO Biosphere Reserve (which you’ll also get a chance to sample). Whether you're a beer enthusiast or just curious about fermentation, you'll leave with new skills, great stories, and maybe even some inspiration for your next brew!

£5, booking essential. Reserve your spot at https://fieldstudy.co.uk/

18+ only

Walk will take place on unmade footpaths around the estate so a moderate level of fitness required. On site parking.
