Green & Blue Zinemaking Workshop

  • Boojum and Snark 105 High Street Sandown, England, PO36 8AF United Kingdom (map)

Join one or both of two free creative workshops for 18-30 (ish!) year olds exploring connections to green and blue spaces on the Isle of Wight led by designer and illustrator Tommy Brentnall, with researchers Daneen Cowling and Fiona Middleton! We will be exploring and mapping our connections with green and blue space on the Island, and experimenting with methods and media for zine-making.

On Day 2 Tommy will introduce the group to riso printing, including ideas and techniques for producing different kinds of zines, posters and leaflets. We will use materials and ideas gathered during the Day 1 workshop to experiment with riso printing and create a print publication together about green and blue spaces on the Island. However, you are also welcome to join just the Day 2 workshop and bring your own ideas to work with!

Don’t worry if you’ve never done printing before, it’s a great opportunity to play, try out some new creative methods and skills, and share your thoughts, stories and ideas around what nature on the Island means to you. You’re also very welcome to join if you work with these methods all the time!
